5/6/10

Two reasons to celebrate and remember this day, May 6, 2010: it's the 79th birthday of one of the greatest baseball players of all time, Willie Mays, and it's the two-year anniversary of the creation of this blog.

I'm just about to begin working on a special, significant piece for Coleman's Corner in Cinema very soon.

Once I finish that, I will turn my attention to other items. Some of these will be troubling, unfulfilled matters, such as three of the four films screened for the Mill Valley Film Festival last fall and plenty of other reviews I've either written in my head ages ago or have yet to consider at all.

I apologize for the ludicrous absence of material. There will be an uptick in activity here in the coming days and weeks.

Thank you, dear reader!

Hi! Alexander Coleman,

Welcome back...
...Alexander, Please believe me you don't have to apologize for being MIA...I'am sure there are more important "things" in
life beside blogging.

But on the other hand, The reasons that you stated for celebration are very important...too!
Thanks, for sharing!
DeeDee ;-D

By the way, I guess you are wondering...Who?!? is DeeDee?!?
because when you left I was DarkCityDame...(Just Kidding!)

Thank you, DeeDee, for the kind words. You are of course correct. And thank you again!

Sam, yes, I do promise, especially as it relates to my upcoming "special" piece, which will be rather unique for this ol' blog o' mine.

Just to whet your appetite a little, Sam, I will give you a hint about the film for which I will be writing this: it's one of our mutual favorites of the previous decade. Beyond that, my lips are sealed and my fingers are tied--but I plan to not make you and others wait very long, my friend.

COLEMAN!

Your coming back. NICE.

I can't wait to hear what you thought of Shutter Island. Looking forward to that review. Also Avatar and The Road. A Prophet as well. The White Ribbon too. See what you have missed.

I have recently been reflecting on The Elements of Style. When reading one of your reviews, I see them put into action. Come back soon.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
